Sediment Filters
Spin-Down Sediment Filter
The Spin-Down sediment filter is great for wells or city water with high amounts of sediment present in the water supply. The great thing about the Spin-Down sediment filter is you only have to flush the sediment out with one turn of the easy, clean flush valve. The Spin-Down filter is available in different sizes.
We believe that preventing dirt and debris from entering the water system or your home is a good thing. It’s like the A/C filter in your home or the fuel filter in your car. The filter system removes all of the little particles in your water that can clog aerators, softener, sulfur and/or iron filter, shower heads, and build up in your hot water heaters, dishwasher’s sprayers, etc.
Big Blue Sediment Filter
Big Blue sediment filters use a non-transparent blue housing for an important reason. Clear housings let light in, and light encourages algae growth. The blue housing blocks light completely, which prevents algae from forming inside the system and keeps your water clean and clear.
Big Blue filter cartridges are available in several micron ratings depending on the level of protection your home needs. The standard 5 micron cartridge removes particles twenty times smaller than a human hair and is great for general sediment reduction. Homes with finer debris or higher water quality requirements can upgrade to 1 micron filtration, which captures extremely small particles such as fine silt and organic material. For the highest level of clarity, 0.5 micron cartridges are available, offering even more precise filtration that can help reduce the smallest suspended solids.
These filters help protect fixtures, appliances, softeners, and reverse osmosis systems from clogging or premature wear. Regular replacement of the cartridge ensures consistent performance and cleaner water throughout your home. Big Blue filter housings and cartridges are available in multiple sizes to match your household flow rates and water conditions.
Here at Five Star Water Systems, we believe the first step in protecting your home is keeping sediment, sand, and debris out of your water supply. Even small particles can clog fixtures, damage appliances, and reduce the effectiveness of softeners, iron filters, and sulfur filters. Our sediment filtration options are designed to catch these contaminants before they reach your equipment, ensuring cleaner water and smoother performance throughout your entire system.
